Styled Session – Valentines Day Wedding

I am so excited that this photo session was featured on the Real Weddings Blog. I had been dreaming up a Valentines wedding session for a long time, and I was so lucky to have amazing wedding vendors to help me make it a reality! When you think Valentines day, many sweet things may pop into your head: love, romance, chocolate, hearts, flowers and candy. In this styled wedding shoot, pretty details include red and white stationery pieces, heart-shaped balloons, hand-decorated bottles and, of course, plenty of bright flowers and sweet treats — all topped off by pink champagne, naturally. I am going to break this into two posts, one for details, and one for the amazing bride and groom because both aspects of this session were incredible!

Elisita Photography – Halloween 2012

It’s amazing how I got used to not having to pick out my children’s costumes. Every year they tell me what they want to be, and that is what they are. With baby Ashton, it was a little different though. First, babies and costumes, are so unbelievably adorable. Second, Ashtons father and I both had completely different ideas as to what Ashton should be for his first Halloween… So he had three costumes! A bee, a Tigger, and a frog. And honestly, he was absolutely adorable in all of them

Dallas, my seven year old, is obsessed with this new game called skylanders, so obviously, when he was given the chance to be Spyro, he was thrilled! Not many people knew what he was when we went trick or treating, but there were a few who guessed immediately what he was.

Gabriel, wanted to be a power ranger, a gold power ranger. It is so fun to be able to watch a show with him that I watched as a child! I guess they have run out of awesome shows, so they just keep re-making old ones

So here are our boys for Halloween! Ashton – Bee, Frog, and Tigger, Gabriel- Gold Power Ranger, and Dallas – Spyro;)

Prestige Ocean Front Resort – Wedding Paradise!

If you are looking for a location which has it all, Prestige Ocean Front Resort in Sooke is one of my top recommendations. They provide the location, support and all the amenities you could imagine when it comes to wedding planning.

The amazing hotel is the first thing you will notice when you walk up to the resort. It is an extravagant castle like building which is located right on the ocean. While you walk through the lobby you will notice a bar, a beautiful chandelier and chairs everywhere for your comfort. Looking ahead, you will see the glass windows looking out to an amazing balcony. The balcony wraps around the whole back of the hotel, overlooking the most amazing view you have ever seen. It is THE PERFECT location for a wedding, and has a pavilion for a stunning wedding backdrop.

I then had the chance to speak with Krista, the wedding coordinator for the Prestige Resort, and realized that this wedding venue offers it all. Packages can include anything from photography to catering, to decoration. They have a vast selection of colors to choose from for reception decoration, so you can rest assured that you will have the perfect backdrop not only for the ceremony, but also for your reception on your wedding day. No switching locations for ceremony, reception or even photography is necessary!

If you are looking for a gorgeous location, a place for all your guests to stay, or just the simplicity of automatically having a ‘wedding planner’ included when you book your venue… look no further.

English Inn – Perfect Day and Night!

While driving down Lampson Road in Esquimalt, Victoria BC, you might not even notice the nearly 5 acre English Inn resort tucked away behind their sign and a long driveway.

As you travel down their drive way, you are surrounded by lush trees and flowers, and a unique location that includes Victorian style buildings and an amazing location for a wedding. My firm belief is that all weddings should be as unique as the couples who are getting married, and that is why I LOVE the English Inn.

For the bride who is looking for an outdoor wedding, the location could not get any more beautiful. The outdoor garden has a beautiful staircase from the main building, leading the bride right down to a stone pavilion where her groom waits. But there is so much more then the ceremony with The English Inn.

The beautiful main building offers 14 bedrooms, a dance area, a dining room with patio which overlooks the garden, and a lounge, all in one place! If 14 rooms are not enough for your guests, there are additional manors on the property which include eleven more rooms! These days, Brides and Grooms often do not go on honey moons right away, but want to be able to stay with their guests, and then in a private room later that night. The English inn boasts an amazing bridal suite, which is located right in the reception location! When the music stops at 1 am, the bride and groom, as well as the guests only have to walk up a flight of leather covered stairs to their room.

In the morning, there is no need to travel far for breakfast. The English Inn provides a complimentary breakfast, including baked scones, coffee, tea and yogurt.

If you are a couple looking for somewhere that can accomadate guests over night, has a beautiful outdoor and indoor area, as well as can accommodate your ceremony and reception, all with a unique Victorian Style, then this is the location for you!!
